Comec Group was founded in 1978, when the Lord Victor Mesalles Cebria, its current president, decided to enter the fascinating business of packaging, becoming what is now Comec Packaging, located in Costa Rica, which at that time was part of the multinational conglomerate U.S. of America.

CAN Company had been reduced in size and was in a financial position very deplorable. Because of this situation, sales that first year reached only Comec Packaging two million dollars.

The strengthening of the company, which at the time serving customers and a few Costa Rican Central, allowed tackling new business unit. Founded in 1987, Packaging Santa Ana, to meet the corrugated market, also in Costa Rica. Over the years, the Group has grown from its home base in Costa Rica, to become a major international manufacturer with operations from Mexico to Peru. This expansion has been accompanied by a mix of strategic acquisitions and new business formation.

In 1996, this family group began an organizational restructuring that allowed them to continue their growth, but also allowed to strengthen the development of managerial talent, through a major recruitment of experienced professionals to conduct various transactions.

Today, COMECE GROUP, has four distinct business units: first, with which the Group was born, the Packaging Sector Tin and plastic containers, the second, the packaging, corrugated and kraft paper folding, the third, the sector of Supermarkets and Food Industry and the fourth, the Real Estate in tourism.
